Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta

This annual festival takes place in the great State of New Mexico and is considered one of the top hot air balloon fiestas in the U.S. This special fiesta is actually a nine day event which is held in early October. The Albuquerque sky becomes eye candy which are full of these heated balloons. During the nine days, at least 500 hot air balloons will grace the sky making this the largest festival in the world. You’ll find some of the creative shaped balloons here that range from cartoon characters, famous buildings, and celebrity faces. One of it’s best features is ” Dawn Patrol.” Pilots take off during the night-time and fly until daylight. Not only is this spectacular to witness; Dawn Patrol is great for checking atmospheric conditions such as wind speed and altitude directions.

Gatineau Hot Air Balloon Festival

This yearly festival is one of Canada’s finest. Held in Gatineau, Quebec; this festival stands out because it offers informative information of hot air balloons and pertains up to 300 live shows and performances for general public enjoyment. Visitors will find every shape and color of hot air balloons here. Gatineau once held the World Hot Air Airship Championship back in 1998 and the event has experienced dramatic growth throughout the years.

Strathaven Balloon Festival

Located in Strathaven, Scotland; this non-profit festival offers a wide range of hot air balloons such as brilliantly colored, logo/brand themed, and different shaped balloons. You’ll get some of the best views of the Scotland countryside from above as many of the area’s medieval castle’s are on full display. Nature and history lovers will love this event which takes place in August at the prominent John Hastie Park.

Since 1977 the (CBC) has been offering fun, food, and some of the best balloons in the country. This Labor Day weekend event is the largest in the Rocky Mountain Area as well as the longest running. Individuals will truly appreciate the area’s natural beauty of the mountains, lakes, and rivers.
